British expert: Education becomes key element of long-term partnership between Baku and London

“Speaking about the prospects of ‘soft power’ in Azerbaijani-British relations, it is important to emphasize that cooperation in the field of education is acquiring strategic significance,” said British expert Neil Watson in the latest episode of the program “Azerbaijan and the World,” broadcast on the AZERTAC website.

According to him, high-quality and comprehensive education in the English language is an important instrument for the country’s further development.

The guest of the program noted that as Azerbaijan continues to strengthen its orientation toward the West, proficiency in English — as the language of international communication — becomes a necessary condition for effective engagement with Western institutions and partners.

Watson emphasized that the expansion of educational cooperation between the two countries is generating interest on both sides — both among British educational institutions and within the Government of Azerbaijan. He added that this creates a foundation for further deepening of the partnership as the country moves beyond the post-conflict reality.
