The implementation of the underwater energy cable project between Azerbaijan and Central Europe could not only strengthen the region's energy connectivity but also create conditions for the development of high-tech industries, Hungarian international relations expert László Vása said in the latest episode of the "Azerbaijan and the World" program broadcast on the AZERTAC website.
According to him, access to stable and relatively inexpensive electricity from Azerbaijan will allow Hungary to secure its status as a regional energy hub. The expert noted that this project is not only of energy significance but also of strategic importance, as it creates a new architecture for cross-border infrastructure in Europe.
He also emphasized that in the long term, this will create favorable conditions for the deployment of data centers, supercomputers, and artificial intelligence infrastructure, while the expansion of routes involving Central Asian countries could strengthen Azerbaijan's role as a key link between East and West.
