At present, no final decision has been taken on the timing or scope of the rebranding process for “Italiana Petroli”’s network of filling stations to operate under the SOCAR brand. An official announcement will be made once a decision is finalized.
In September 2025, SOCAR signed an agreement to acquire 99.82% of the shares of “Italiana Petroli” from “API Holding”. The acquisition was completed in May this year, followed by the official launch presentation of “SOCAR Italy” in Rome on May 28.
“Italiana Petroli” is one of Italy’s largest integrated downstream companies. Founded in 1933, the company operates in the mobility and downstream sectors and is Italy’s leading private player, with 1,600 employees, 4,500 IP-branded filling stations, approximately 10 million tonnes of refining capacity at two refineries, and a nationwide logistics network. The “IP Group”, with more than 90 years of history, remains a key contributor to Italy’s mobility sector and energy security.
