Israeli genomics company Geneyx Genomex has partnered with Canadian company EpiSign Inc. to help doctors and laboratories diagnose rare diseases, according to TPS-IL. The companies will combine Geneyx’s technology for analyzing genetic information with EpiSign’s technology for detecting changes in how genes are switched on and off. Their joint system will allow laboratories to examine both types of information in one process, potentially helping identify diseases that are difficult to diagnose.
EpiSign’s technology can analyze changes linked to more than 300 conditions and works with several DNA sequencing technologies. The companies said the partnership could reduce repeated testing and help patients receive answers more quickly.
