A National Women's Volleyball Team became the champion by defeating Serbia 3-2 in the final of the 2023 CEV European Championship.

While the match played in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, started with mutual points, Serbia won the first set 27-25 and took a 1-0 lead. In the second set, the Turkish National Women's Volleyball Team won the set 25-21 with the effective play of Ebrar Karakurt and the score became 1-1. Sultans of Filenin, who started the third set well and increased the difference up to 4 points, could not maintain this difference and lost the set 25-22. Playing well at the end of the fourth set and winning 25-22, the Turkish Stars took the match to the deciding set. Sultans of Turkish Filenin, who started the last set effectively, won 15-13, bringing the score to 3-2 and became the European champion.

SULTANS OF THE NET BECOME EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS FOR THE FIRST TIME 

Defeating Serbia 3-2 in the final, the National Women's Volleyball Team became the European champion for the first time. The Ay-Yıldızlı team, who previously reached the final in 2003 and 2019, lost both matches and won the silver medal.

UNDEFEATED CHAMPION

The Sultans of Filenin, who won all 9 matches they played in the tournament, became the undefeated champion. The National Women's Volleyball Team, which won the last 6 matches in the Nations League, extended its unbeaten streak to 15 matches. 

CAPTAIN EDA ERDEM LIFTED THE TROPHY

Eda Erdem, the captain of the European champion National Women's Volleyball Team, received the trophy from CEV President Aleksandar Boricic. After lifting the trophy, captain Eda Erdem shared this joy with her teammates. 

OSMAN AŞKIN BAK FOLLOWED THE MATCH

Minister of Youth and Sports Dr Osman Aşkın Bak followed the match played in Brussels. In addition to Minister Bak, Deputy Ministers of Youth and Sports Hamza Yerlikaya and Safa Koçoğlu, Former Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Tarkan, who prepared a special song for the Filenin Sultans, also watched the match from the ground.
