Another young athlete, Veronika Zhilina, has joined Azerbaijan's national figure skating team.
According to Report, the Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation said that the International Skating Union (ISU) approved Azerbaijan's application regarding Zhilina, officially authorizing the skater to represent Azerbaijan.
Beginning with the 2026/2027 season, Veronika Zhilina will compete for Azerbaijan in international competitions.
Azerbaijan is currently represented in women's singles figure skating at international tournaments by Sabina Aliyeva, Leyli Akhundova, Nargiz Suleymanova, and Arina Kalugina.
