Ankara hosts solemn reception marking Day of Azerbaijan’s Armed Forces

On June 18, the Gazi Officers' Club in Ankara hosted a solemn reception to mark the Day of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan.

Organized on behalf of Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Türkiye, Rashad Mammadov, and Hero of the Patriotic War, Military Attaché Major General Zaur Zeynalov, the event was attended by Türkiye’s Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, military attachés from foreign diplomatic missions, representatives of the public from both brotherly nations, and other official guests.

In his address, Major General Zaur Zeynalov emphasized the unwavering friendship and brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Türkiye. He also highlighted the heroic efforts during the 44-day Patriotic War and the one-day anti-terror operation, which led to the restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler underscored the importance of unity and solidarity between the two brotherly nations amid modern challenges.

“Türkiye and Azerbaijan are located in a strategically significant region. Strengthening the defense capabilities and military cooperation between our countries is not a choice but a necessity,” Minister Güler stated.

He further affirmed that Ankara and Baku are strategic partners united by inseparable brotherly ties. “Our countries must preserve unity and support each other under any circumstances. The victory achieved in the 44-day war is not only a glorious chapter in Azerbaijan’s history but also a source of pride for the entire Turkic world. This victory holds great significance for peace and stability in the South Caucasus,” Güler said, expressing hope that sustainable peace will soon be established in the region.

The reception concluded with a concert program and featured a photo exhibition showcasing the glorious history of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.
