Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has arrived in the Signagi district of Georgia, where a “C-130” aircraft belonging to the Turkish Armed Forces crashed, the minister announced on his “X” social media account.
The minister inspected the ongoing search and rescue operations at the crash site.
Türkiye has also sent a search and rescue team and unmanned aerial vehicles to the area.
A search and rescue team from Türkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) has been dispatched to Georgia.
Due to the aircraft crashing in a mountainous area, a special team of rescuers has been sent to Georgia.
It is also reported that Türkiye has deployed “Akıncı” unmanned aerial vehicles to assist in the search and rescue efforts, and they will join the operations within a few hours.
