Second Azerbaijan–Türkiye Regional Economic Forum wraps up in Nakhchivan

The 2nd Azerbaijan–Türkiye Regional Economic Forum with the participation of officials and businesspersons took place in Nakhchivan.

According to Azerbaijan’s Agency for Small and Medium Business Development (KOBIA), prior to the opening ceremony, the participants visited a monument to National Leader Heydar Aliyev and laid flowers at it.

Co-organized by the Ministry of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the Agency for Small and Medium Business Development (KOBIA), and supported by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy, the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye, the Kars Chamber of Commerce and Industry, “Cahan Holding” and “Marsol Group,” the forum brought together representatives of relevant institutions of Azerbaijan and Türkiye, members of governorships, municipalities and regional chambers of commerce such as Kars, Iğdır, Ardahan and Erzurum, as well as more than 200 businesspersons.

The aim of the forum is to develop business relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye and their regions, to highlight the existing potential and opportunities for business cooperation, to inform Turkish businessmen about the business and investment opportunities in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and to expand bilateral economic and trade relations with Türkiye’s border regions.

The event began with the performance of the National Anthems of Azerbaijan and Türkiye, the commemoration of National Leaders Heydar Aliyev and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and remembrance of the martyrs.

Jeyhun Jalilov, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic; Asip Kaya, Türkiye’s Consul General to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic; Zamin Aliyev, Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Turkish city of Kars; Kazim Huseynaliyev, Minister of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic; Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of KOBIA; and Vugar Abbasov, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Azerbaijan and Co-Chair of the Azerbaijan–Türkiye Chamber of Commerce and Industry, delivered speeches and shared their views on the development of political and economic relations, strategic partnership between the countries, cooperation between entrepreneurs, and business and investment opportunities.

The forum featured a presentation on Nakhchivan’s investment, trade and logistics potential, as well as B2B meetings.

Turkish businesspersons also viewed several enterprises operating in Nakhchivan.
