Hüseyin Büyükfırat: We are striving to achieve our trade goals between Türkiye and Azerbaijan

“Economic and trade relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye should fully reflect the high level of interaction between the leaders of our countries. We are doing our utmost to increase the trade turnover between the two fraternal states to $15 billion per year,” said Hüseyin Büyükfırat, Chairman of the Board of the Turkish-Azerbaijani Businessmen and Industrialists Public Union, in an interview with AZERTAC.

The chairman expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and Türkiye’s Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat for supporting the initiative to hold the 2nd Azerbaijan–Türkiye Investment Forum in Baku on December 22–23.

Highlighting trade statistics between Türkiye and Azerbaijan, Hüseyin Büyükfırat noted that trade turnover in the first three quarters of 2025 exceeded $7 billion. “To further increase this figure, it is important to attract the attention of major Turkish companies, investors, and holdings to Azerbaijan,” he emphasized.

Calling Azerbaijan “the shining star of the region” and “the most important link in the Middle Corridor,” Büyükfırat underscored the corridor’s importance in ensuring long-term peace and stability in the region.
