Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency, Türkiye’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority exchange experience on digitalization and power grid regulations

A final meeting was held between experts from the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) and Türkiye’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) as part of the 2025–2026 Inter-Forum Action Plan of the “Regulations” Working Group under the 4th Azerbaijan–Türkiye Energy Forum.

Opening the online meeting, the Working Group co-chairs representing AERA and EMRA, Elmar Gulaliyev and Mustafa Yavuzdemir, highlighted the exchange of information and expertise that had taken place over the previous period.

They emphasized that these joint activities had significantly contributed to the ongoing cooperation between AERA and EMRA.

Subsequently, Vugar Hashimov, Senior Specialist in the Energy Monitoring Section of AERA’s Energy Regulation and Monitoring Department, delivered a presentation on “Digitalization in the Energy Sector.” In addition, Sanan Abbasov, Leading Specialist in AERA’s State Programs and Strategic Development Division, presented on the topic “Electricity Grid Codes: The Role of AERA.”
