Azerbaijan, Türkiye explore enhancing legal cooperation

On July 1, Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev met with a visiting delegation from Türkiye led by Justice Minister Akın Gürlek.

During the meeting, the officials noted that the relations of brotherhood and strategic alliance between the two countries, grounded in the "One nation, two states" concept proposed by National Leader Heydar Aliyev, continue to develop steadily thanks to the close and friendly ties between the presidents of both countries and their strong political commitment.

The meeting highlighted that the excellent bilateral relations contribute significantly to enhancing legal cooperation, including among the prosecution, justice, and other law enforcement authorities of both countries, strengthening legal assistance mechanisms, intensifying joint efforts to combat crime, and advancing international legal cooperation.

Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev expressed confidence that cooperation between the prosecution and justice authorities of the two countries would continue to develop successfully.

Justice Minister Akın Gürlek emphasized that Azerbaijan and Türkiye enjoy excellent relations across all sectors, including the prosecution, judiciary, and justice sectors, adding that the joint initiatives implemented by both countries contribute significantly to strengthening judicial cooperation.

The meeting was also attended by Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Birol Akgün.
