Under NATO's Enhanced Air Policing mission, Türkiye's contingent will operate at Ämari Air Base in Estonia from August 1 through November 30, 2026, Report informs, citing a statement by the Turkish Ministry of National Defense.
The deployment of five F-16 fighter jets to Estonia has already been completed.
During the mission, Turkish units will contribute to the security of Baltic airspace as part of NATO's joint air defense operations. They will perform 24/7 quick reaction alert duties, supporting the protection of NATO airspace.
Türkiye will formally assume the Enhanced Air Policing mission from Portugal at a ceremony scheduled for July 31.
