“The governments of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Türkiye, and Bulgaria are conducting negotiations on the creation of an overland electricity transit corridor,” Inga Pkhaladze, Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, said.
“This initiative is of considerable economic importance and interest. Alongside transit, Georgia will also export its own electricity, which will, in turn, support local businesses and contribute to the further development of the country’s energy sector,” the Georgian Deputy Minister noted.
According to her, the new project will enable electricity from any interested country, primarily neighboring countries, to be delivered to Europe through Georgia.
