President Erdoğan was given the title of 'Honorary Aksakal of the Turkmen People'
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was conferred the title of 'Honorary Aksakal of the Turkmen People' by Turkmenistan National Leader and Head of Public Affairs Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov.

According to the written statement made by the Directorate of Communications; President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had a meeting in Antalya with Turkmenistan National Leader and Head of Public Affairs Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov, who was in Turkey for the Antalya Diplomatic Forum. During the meeting, bilateral relations between Turkey and Turkmenistan, regional and global issues, and Israel's systematic attacks against innocent civilians were discussed. President Erdoğan stated that mutual steps with Turkmenistan that will bring benefits to both countries in all areas should be increasingly continued and efforts should be increased to reach the level of 5 billion dollars in trade volume between the two countries. During the meeting, President Erdoğan stated that Israel's attack on civilians waiting to receive food aid is unacceptable and that Turkey and Turkmenistan can cooperate to increase the humanitarian aid sent to the region.

The statement also stated that some signatures were made, "between Turkey and Turkmenistan, 'Mutual Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding on Developing Cooperation in the Natural Gas Field', 'Declaration of Intent on Cooperation in Oil and Natural Gas Fields' and 'Turkmenistan Airlines and Turkish Aeronautical Association University' "A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between them. Before the meeting, President Erdoğan was awarded the title of 'Honorary Aksakal of the Turkmen People' by Turkmenistan on the occasion of his birthday and was presented with a gift caftan. President Erdoğan also thanked his guest Berdimuhamedov."
