BODIES OF 8 ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS INCLUDING 2 BABIES FOUND
The bodies of 8 illegal immigrants, including 2 babies, were found in the boat that capsized and sank 8 miles off Eceabat district of Çanakkale. While 2 of the illegal immigrants escaped by their own means, 2 of them were rescued by the Coast Guard teams.
In a written statement made by Çanakkale Governorate, "A boat carrying irregular migrants capsized off the coast of Eceabat-Gökçeada. Search and rescue operations are ongoing by all our institutions, especially our Coast Guard Command, and according to the first determinations, 2 people were rescued by their own means, 2 people were rescued by the Coast Guard teams and the bodies of 8 people were reached."
