Trump: We are restarting the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz
U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the U.S. blockade in the Strait of Hormuz has been reinstated and a 20% transit fee will be charged on all ships passing through the strait.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced on his social media account that they are restarting the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump stated, “The Strait of Hormuz is open and will remain open, whether Iran likes it or not. We are restarting the 'Iran blockade'. This blockade will only prevent Iranian ships or their clients from entering or exiting the Strait. All other countries will be able to use the Strait fairly and freely. From today, the U.S. will be known as the 'guardian of the Strait of Hormuz'. However, a 20% transit fee will be charged on all cargo transported from the region to cover the security costs of this mission. This practice will begin immediately,” he said.
