Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva spoke at an event in the city of Sao Paulo. Lula da Silva criticized U.S. President Donald Trump's statement regarding the imposition of a transit fee on all cargo passing through the Strait of Hormuz. Lula da Silva said, “A significant country like the United States, which has long fought against piracy, cannot now turn into a pirate itself. They have no right to tax the Strait of Hormuz. The responsibility for what happens in the Strait of Hormuz lies with the United States. It was not closed before.”
