Indian media reported that the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) made a statement regarding the heavy rains and floods in the state. The statement noted that the death toll in the floods has risen to 82. Assam State Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that some of the victims have started returning to their homes, and the government continues its efforts for emergency aid and compensation payments, rebuilding livelihoods, repairing schools, and reconstructing damaged infrastructure.
