In a statement from the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), it was reported that the temperature measured at 40.9 degrees Celsius in the southeastern city of Yangsan during noon exceeded 42 degrees during the day, marking the 'highest temperature' nationwide since records began in 1904. The statement emphasized that the high temperatures, which exceeded 40 degrees for five consecutive days in the city, were occurring earlier each day, attributed to the accumulation of heat due to the ongoing heatwave.
