5.6 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes New Zealand
A 5.6 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of New Zealand's North Island.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) announced that a tremor was recorded 14 kilometers south of Hicks Bay in the Gisborne region of New Zealand's North Island. The earthquake, recorded at a depth of approximately 52.8 kilometers, did not result in any reported loss of life or property.
