A state of emergency has been declared in the city of Spokane, Washington, due to rapidly spreading wildfires. Officials reported that 2,300 acres have burned and evacuation orders have been issued for thousands of families.
The Washington National Guard announced that personnel have been deployed to the area to support emergency crews working to extinguish the fires. It was noted that at least 10 major wildfires are being fought across the state and that more than 425,000 acres have burned since the beginning of the year.
