Two individuals were injured in an anti-personnel landmine explosion during demining operations in the village of Chardagli, located in Azerbaijan’s Aghdara district.
According to the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA), the incident occurred while Surkhayli Alzamin Vazir oghlu (born in 1994), an employee of a non-governmental organization engaged in humanitarian demining efforts, was carrying out official duties on site. The blast resulted in injuries to his right leg. A second worker, Mirzayev Fuzuli Rizvan oghlu (born in 1998), sustained minor injuries as a result of the detonation.
Both injured personnel were promptly transported to the district central hospital for medical evaluation and treatment. Healthcare professionals have reported their current condition as satisfactory.
