US Statement on 'Strait of Hormuz'
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said about a possible agreement with Iran on the Strait of Hormuz, “I can say there is progress, but it has not been finalized.”

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio made a statement regarding Iran at the signing ceremony of the agreement reached in the field of civil nuclear cooperation between the two countries with Paraguayan Vice President Pedro Alliana. Rubio noted that they are working on two agreements with Iran, one of which is the denuclearization of Iran, and the other is to ensure the passage of more ships through Hormuz. Rubio stated, “While progressing towards long-term discussions on nuclear disarmament, I believe there is a negotiation process involving us between Oman and Iran to ensure more ships can safely pass through here in the short term.”

Regarding the potential agreement on Hormuz, Rubio said, “I can say there is progress, but it has not been finalized, I hope it will be soon.”
