Rodriguez stated, "The power outages across the country are a direct result of the blockade imposed by the US on Cuba, which we describe as genocidal, particularly the siege in the energy sector. The US embargo on Cuba not only prevents the free import of fuel but also blocks the entry of necessary spare parts and equipment for the National Electric System (SEN) into the country. It also complicates cooperation with experts from other countries and makes access to international financing more difficult," he said.
