Due to the ongoing extreme heat wave in Iraq, official offices have been closed.
Iraqi media reported that following warnings that temperatures are expected to exceed 50 degrees, the governorates of Basra, Dhi Qar, Maysan, Karbala, Qadisiyah, Babil, and Wasit have decided to suspend work in official institutions for one day today. In the governorate statements, it was noted that the decision was made to protect public employees and citizens from extreme heat, and it was stated that institutions providing health, security, electricity, and other essential services would be exempt from the application.
