Death toll from Ebola outbreak in Congo rises to 1801
The number of deaths in the Ebola outbreak declared in May in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has risen to 1,801.

In the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), the number of confirmed cases in the outbreak caused by the Ebola virus, declared on May 15, has risen to 3,973, with the death toll reaching 1,801. The DRC Ministry of Health announced that the outbreak has spread to 51 regions across five provinces: Haut-Uele, Ituri, North Kivu, South Kivu, and Tshopo. The mortality rate in the outbreak is recorded at 45.3%, with a contact tracing rate of 75.3%.
