In a published interview, Iranian President Mesud Pezeşkiyan defended the Iranian administration's decision to initiate negotiations with the US and sign a memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the war. Pezeşkiyan stated that he favors dialogue to protect his country's rights, emphasizing that Tehran cannot be forced to surrender.
Pezeşkiyan noted that as long as the US adheres to its commitments under the memorandum of understanding, Iran will also remain committed to its obligations, stating, "At the point where they do not fulfill their obligations, we are not obliged to continue either."
