The Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that 11 of its citizens died and 114 are missing in the Russia-Ukraine War.
In a statement from the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was noted that 31 Peruvian citizens were evacuated from Russia, stating, "According to official data, 459 Peruvian citizens participated in the war, 11 of whom were killed, 114 went missing, and 3 were captured by the Ukrainian army."
The statement mentioned that the Consular Section of the Peruvian Embassy in Russia is managing the repatriation process of two young people in distress, and by the end of July, the consular procedures for 2 more Peruvian citizens were completed, allowing them to return to the country. The statement also addressed fake job advertisements related to the Russia-Ukraine War, warning against falling into the trap of human trafficking networks and emphasizing the necessity of obtaining official permission from the state to serve in the army of a foreign country. It was also reminded that human traffickers should be reported, and that victims and their relatives can contact the consulates in Moscow and Warsaw, which also cover the Ukrainian region.
