It has been reported that the death toll in the floods caused by heavy rains in India's Assam state has risen to 100.
Indian media reported that the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) made a statement regarding the heavy rains and floods. The statement noted that 2 more people lost their lives in the floods across the state in the last 24 hours. Thus, the death toll in the state has risen to 100.
Assam State Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared on his social media account that more than 1.1 million people in 25 districts of the state have been affected by the floods.
