Azerbaijan, Romania explore cooperation

As part of his official visit to Romania, Elchin Yusubov, Special Representative of Azerbaijani President in the city of Khankendi, the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, met with Dan Ștefan Tarcea, Vice Mayor of the city of Cluj-Napoca.

The meeting addressed establishing and developing cooperation between Khankendi city, Aghdara and Khojaly districts, and Cluj-Napoca, Romania’s second largest city, also exploring implementing joint projects, investment opportunities, and other issues of mutual concern.

Dan Ștefan Tarcea briefed the Special Representative Yusubov on the ongoing infrastructure and city development projects in Cluj-Napoca.

In turn, Elchin Yusubov highlighted Azerbaijan’s restoration efforts in Khankendi city, as well as Agdara and Khojaly districts. He mentioned the valiant Azerbaijani Army, led by President Ilham Aliyev, putting an end to over 30 years of occupation of Azerbaijani territories, adding that following the liberation Azerbaijan has launched large-scale restoration efforts, as well as gradual return of former IDPs. Touching upon the normalization process with Armenia, Yusubov noted it was Azerbaijan that initiated the process. According to him, the signing of peace agreement and establishing sustainable cooperation environment in the region would be crucial not only for the entire South Caucasus and Europe, but particularly for enhancing trade and economic relations with Romania.
