UN Secretary-General Guterres Calls on Iran and US to 'Return to Negotiations'
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on Iran and the US to resume negotiations after the expiration of the 60-day period set in the talks between the two countries.

United Nations (UN) Secretary-General's Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric answered journalists' questions at the daily press briefing. Referring to the expiration of the 60-day period set for a final agreement under the memorandum of understanding signed between Iran and the US on June 17, Dujarric conveyed Guterres' message, stating that the Secretary-General wants the negotiations to resume.

Expressing that Guterres has maintained the same approach since the beginning of the process, Dujarric said, “The Secretary-General's message has been the same from the start; there is no military solution to this conflict. He invites Iran and the US to resume negotiations as soon as possible to reach a peaceful and lasting solution, to avoid military actions, and to soften the harsh rhetoric we have heard in recent days.”
