US: 'Economic Exclusion' Operation Launched Against Iran
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated, “We have launched an 'economic exclusion' operation aimed at cutting the economic lifelines keeping Iran afloat.”
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced at a press conference that, under the directive of President Donald Trump, an unprecedented 'economic exclusion' operation has been launched against Iran and those supporting the country. Bessent stated that their aim is to cut all the economic lifelines keeping Iran afloat and to maintain pressure until Tehran is left isolated. He said, “The US Armed Forces have laid the groundwork for achieving the goal of ensuring that Iran never possesses nuclear weapons. The strength of the US economy allows for a long-term financial operation. Iran is now faced with a very clear choice and has two paths ahead: complete global isolation with a minimal subsistence economy or the path to normalization, offering the opportunity to reintegrate into the global economy.”
Emphasizing that they have launched an 'economic operation' to eliminate all other options before Iran, Bessent said, “The Treasury Department has mapped out every connection point, intermediary element, and network used by Iran to smuggle oil and evade sanctions. From today, the steps taken by the Treasury Department and other agencies will tighten the circle and block every potential source of income financing the Revolutionary Guard Corps and Iran. We are applying a zero-leakage approach. There will be no breathing space that allows the regime to rebuild its capacity to carry out terrorist acts against America and the world.”
