Iran's Minister of Economy and Finance, Ali Medenizade, announced that the government has prepared a two-year plan for the country's economic affairs, addressing all scenarios including current developments within this plan. Speaking to the national media, Medenizade stated, “The government has been planning for a long time to counter US sanctions and is fully prepared for the new sanctions. Enemies have tried to test the determination of the Iranian people and leaders at different times. The steel and petrochemical sectors were affected by the attacks. Efforts are underway to bring the damaged facilities back into operation in a short time, the reconstruction process has begun, and attempts are being made to address the shortages in the market.”
Emphasizing that the unipolar world order has ended, Medenizade noted that sanctions are not new for Iran. He pointed out that the global financial flow is not structured in a way that the US can completely cut off Iran's economic and commercial channels, stating, “We are aware that the people have been seriously harmed. Due to the initiatives started by the enemies last year, high inflation was imposed on the country. It is not possible to say that it had no effect.”
Referring to the statement by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent that US President Donald Trump has been meeting with leaders of other countries to support the new sanctions, Medenizade said that economic channels cannot be cut in the targeted way with one or two meetings.
