It has been reported that an oil tanker was hit off the coast of Oman.
In a written statement from the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), it was stated that an unknown object struck the engine room of an oil tanker approximately 9 nautical miles off the coast of the Shisa region, northeast of Oman. The statement noted that damage occurred in the engine room and the ship became inoperable, adding, "The crew is safe, and no environmental pollution or leakage has been reported."
