Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced he would resign from his position on September 27.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic appeared on a television program in Serbia to make a statement about the early general elections scheduled for October 25. Vucic, who announced that he would resign from the presidency on September 27, stated that he is the longest-serving president in Serbia since the transition to a multi-party system. Vucic said, “I could not have achieved this without the citizens of this country. I have served Serbia and its citizens with loyalty, diligence, and dedication.”
Vucic also mentioned that the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) would organize rallies in major cities, including the capital Belgrade, as part of its election campaign.
