The Pentagon's official inspector released a special report covering the early months of the war between the US and Iran. The report, covering the period from February 28 to June 30, noted that Iranian attacks targeted US bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, and Jordan. According to the report, many buildings and structures at US bases in the region were damaged or completely destroyed in the attacks. Additionally, some critical US ammunition stocks have significantly decreased, and some have been depleted.
It was stated that the US Central Command (CENTCOM) relocated some personnel, military assets, and storage facilities to different locations due to the attacks. In this context, it was emphasized that US military medical evacuation helicopters were withdrawn from Iraq and Kuwait, and medical evacuations were carried out by road to local health facilities in the region.
The report also included information that the regional headquarters of the US Navy in Bahrain was destroyed in the Iranian attacks. It was also highlighted that Iran's attacks on US diplomatic facilities in the Middle East caused approximately $184 million in damage.
The report stated that about 3,500 diplomatic personnel have stayed away from the region since the war began, noting, "Limited operations continue at many of the US missions in the region. Some diplomats and their families have started to return to the area."
