Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov: We Have Not Abandoned Negotiations
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that they have not abandoned negotiations, saying, "Negotiations can be trilateral or bilateral."

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a round table meeting with representatives of foreign missions in his country in the capital, Moscow. Regarding the possibility of resuming trilateral negotiations between Russia, the USA, and Ukraine, Lavrov stated, “We are always ready for serious negotiations. We have not abandoned negotiations. Negotiations can be trilateral or bilateral. We have never prolonged or tried to complicate negotiations.”

Recalling that negotiations were held between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul in 2022, Lavrov said, “After the obstruction of the Istanbul agreements due to Western intervention, we will not stop the special military operation during the negotiation process. We have never changed our position. We are ready to find reasonable compromises within this framework. Unlike other Western countries, the USA understands the fundamental reasons. We appreciate the American administration's initiatives towards resolving the Ukraine crisis. The USA has never offered Russia a swap for a solution regarding Ukraine in exchange for a solution on Iran.”
