The death toll in the flood that occurred in Nepal on August 26 has risen to 1403, with 6,150 people still missing.
The Nepal National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) announced that the death toll has increased in the flood that occurred in the Rasuwa region on August 26. While search and rescue operations continue in the area, it was reported that the number of fatalities has reached 1403. It was stated that the deaths were 364 in Chitwan, 232 in East Nawalparasi, 222 in West Nawalparasi, 202 in Nuwakot, 193 in Rasuwa, 78 in Gorkha, 72 in Dhading, and 38 in Tanahun; and 2 people died during their treatment in Kathmandu.
It was noted that 6,150 people are missing in the regions where search operations are ongoing, and it was reported that among the missing are 587 foreign tourists. It was stated that 13,742 people have been rescued through the operations conducted.
