Trump Calls for Lowering Interest Rates
U.S. President Donald Trump called for interest rates to be reduced to 1% or lower.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated in a post on his social media account that interest rates in the U.S. should be at 1% or lower. Arguing that the country has 'by far the best credit in the world,' Trump noted that the U.S. is rapidly growing with new investments, saying, “If we stopped trading with every country we have a trade deficit with (which is the case with most of these countries), we would make at least $1.5 trillion a year. The word 'open' is nothing more than a fancy term for 'loss.' We carry almost every country in the world, and this can no longer continue. Lower interest rates for the U.S. and do it quickly,” he said.
