On September 17, a conference titled “Preservation of Historical and Religious Monuments: Challenges and Prospects,” co-organized by the Ministry of Culture and the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, was held in Baku.
The event brings together state officials, members of the Milli Majlis, scholars, specialists, and representatives of the public.
The discussions focused on modern approaches to preserving and restoring religious and cultural heritage, the role of religious communities, and the significance of restored religious and architectural monuments in the urban environment of the liberated territories.
The opening remarks were delivered by Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations; Adil Karimli, Azerbaijani Minister of Culture; and Gulchohra Mammadova, Rector of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction.
Subsequently, the event featured panel sessions on “Preserving Cultural and Religious Heritage: Law, Practice and Opportunities” and “The Role of Historical and Religious Sites in Promoting Traditions of Tolerance and Multiculturalism.”
