It was reported that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed China-US relations and high-level contacts between the two countries during their phone call yesterday. Wang stated that China-US relations have been progressing in a constructive direction based on the strategic stability determined by the leaders of the two countries for some time, and this is in line with the expectations of the international community. Wang said, “The two sides should strengthen communication, advance cooperation, and respect each other's core interests. Thus, it should be ensured that the two countries send a positive message to promote world peace and development.”
It was also noted that Wang and Rubio exchanged views on the latest situation in the Middle East during the meeting.
