As part of his official visit to Romania related to the signing of a twinning agreement between the Romanian city of Baia Mare and Khankendi, Elchin Yusubov, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the city of Khankendi and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, met with Bogdan-Florin Cristea, Adviser to the President of Romania on Administration, Public Policies and Civil Society.
During the meeting, the sides discussed Azerbaijan-Romania relations, the establishment of ties between Romania’s regions and cities and Azerbaijan, particularly the Garabagh region.
Elchin Yusubov highlighted the reconstruction and development projects being implemented in the liberated territories of Garabagh and East Zangezur, the “Great Return” program, as well as the favorable conditions created for foreign investors.
Bogdan-Florin Cristea underlined that he was ready to support the development of bilateral relations between Romania and Azerbaijan and the establishment of cooperation between their regions and cities.
As part of his visit, Elchin Yusubov also met with Gabriel Pleșa, Mayor of Alba Iulia.
The meeting focused on opportunities for economic cooperation, support for establishing business ties, identifying mutually beneficial areas of cooperation, and organizing reciprocal visits.
The parties also discussed the opportunities for cooperation in the field of tourism and the promotion of cultural and historical monuments.
