Immediately after representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Poland published information on social media about the local sale of a Polish-manufactured product featuring printed material displaying a rag associated with the now-dissolved separatist regime, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Poland took steps to halt the production of the material and remove it from sale.
The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Poland informed AZERTAC that it contacted Cezary Popiel, Director of the “Henry” company, which was involved in the production and sale of the product, and conveyed Azerbaijan’s strong protest over the matter. Cezary Popiel apologized for the mistake and said that he had become aware of the issue through social media. He also stated that a decision had been made to halt the production and sale of the product in question.
At the Embassy’s request, Cezary Popiel also formally notified the diplomatic mission in writing. The letter stated that the use of the rag in the printed material was neither intentional nor deliberate, but resulted from human error during the print preparation process. It further noted that sales of the printed product had been completely halted, all copies remaining in stock and those returned by customers would be withdrawn from circulation and destroyed, and relevant measures had been taken to prevent the use of the rag in future printed materials.
In his letter to the Embassy, Cezary Popiel emphasized his respect for Azerbaijan’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.
The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Poland expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani diaspora representatives who identified the aforementioned incident, drew public attention in both countries to the matter through social media, and appealed to the relevant entities.
