Iranian President Pezeşkiyan: We emphasize the importance of returning to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding

Iranian President Mesud Pezeşkiyan shared an evaluation on his social media account regarding Chinese President Xi Jinping's calls for a diplomatic solution. Pezeşkiyan expressed their satisfaction with Xi Jinping's approach, stating, “I appreciate Chinese President Xi Jinping's thoughtful and responsible support for returning to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and resolving disputes through dialogue and diplomacy.”

Reiterating Iran's commitment to the dialogue process, Pezeşkiyan stated, “Iran shares this approach; it emphasizes the importance of returning to the mentioned memorandum, adhering to the commitments already agreed upon, and creating the necessary conditions for serious, concrete, and result-oriented negotiations to progress.”

Touching upon the consensus between Iran and China, Pezeşkiyan noted, “The consensus between Tehran and Beijing on respecting national sovereignty, reducing tensions, and maintaining regional peace and stability provides a strong foundation for continuing constructive cooperation.”
