On the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Minister for African Integration, Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad Cheikh Niang to discuss the Azerbaijan-Senegal bilateral agenda and opportunities to further deepen cooperation.
The sides explored prospects for stronger political dialogue and the intensification of reciprocal visits.
Discussions highlighted the importance of broadening the structural framework of economic ties, alongside high-level cooperation in digital governance and innovation.
The ministers also welcomed the longstanding cooperation and mutual support between Azerbaijan and Senegal within the UN and the Non-Aligned Movement, expressing interest in further strengthening engagement across multilateral platforms.
Following their discussions, the ministers signed the "Memorandum of Understanding on political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of African Integration, Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad of the Republic of Senegal."
The document will play a pivotal role in maintaining regular dialogue and strengthening the political framework of bilateral relations.
