Members of Azerbaijani diaspora in U.S. create AI-based electronic medical record system

students of one of the country’s leading institutions, Miami University, have developed an AI-based electronic medical record system that has attracted interest among local audiences.

The students are set to present their startup at the eMerge Americas 2026 conference in Miami on April 22–24. The event is expected to bring together more than 20,000 participants from over 60 countries. The Azerbaijani students will also speak at a panel discussion on artificial intelligence and healthcare on the sidelines of the conference.

The startup has already gained recognition, winning a competition organized by the University Student Startup Accelerator at the University of Miami and securing an investment of $100,000. In addition, the project received a grant from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Innovations Fund.

The platform aims to minimize the time doctors spend on documentation, enabling them to devote more attention to patients. It is also expected to improve the quality of healthcare services by ensuring faster and more accurate processing of medical data.
