Morocco advanced to the Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinals on Sunday with a 1-0 win over Tanzania in Rabat, with Real Madrid star Brahim Díaz scoring a wonderful strike in the second half of a bruising encounter, according to ESPN.
The win keeps alive Morocco's hopes of ending a 50-year wait for a continental crown on home soil.
Morocco will now advance to only their third quarterfinal since reaching the final in 2004, with the match set to take place in Rabat on Friday.
In another match, South Africa crashed out of the Africa Cup of Nations with a 2-1 last 16 loss to Cameroon, as the Indomitable Lions set up a Friday quarter-final against hosts Morocco in the same city.
