Uruguay and Chile qualify for World Chovgan Championship in Baku

Uruguay and Chile secured their places at the World Chovgan Championship, scheduled to take place in Baku later this year, following the conclusion of the South American Championship in Argentina.

The two national teams earned qualification by finishing first and second, respectively, at the continental tournament organized under the auspices of the International Chovgan Federation.

In a closely contested match, Uruguay narrowly defeated Argentina 3–2, while Chile advanced to the final with a 3–1 victory over Colombia. The tension peaked on the final day of competition. In the third-place playoff, Argentina overcame Colombia 3–2 to claim the bronze medal.

The headline clash of the day saw Uruguay face Chile in the final. The thrilling encounter ended with a 3–2 victory for Uruguay, crowning them South American champions and securing direct qualification for the World Championship. Chile, as the runner-up, also earned the right to represent the continent on the world stage.

With the South American stage complete, attention now turns to the World Chovgan Championship in Azerbaijan this June.
