“To be competitive in Baku, we first need to perform well in qualifying,” Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc said at a press conference ahead of the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
He noted that qualifying has been their biggest weakness in terms of performance this year: “If we can be competitive in qualifying, I will be optimistic about the race. But first, we need to prepare well for the weekend. Track temperatures will also be crucial, so I think that should be our main focus.”
The F1 driver said he enjoys racing in Baku but noted that the races had been challenging for him so far: “Hopefully, we can turn things around this weekend. It would be unfair to blame the circuit for our previous setbacks. We have faced some difficulties in recent races, and it is up to us to improve. We will work on that in Baku.”
The 2026 Azerbaijan Grand Prix will take place on September 24–26.
